Megara is an ancient city in Attica, on the Saronic Gulf opposite the island of Salamis. The town is surrounded by vineyards as well as farms producing olive oil, wheat, citrus fruits, tomatoes and potatoes. Visitors with cars can easily tour the coast as well as adjacent agricultural lands which still produce many of the same crops since ancient times. Visitors to Megara won't see much of the city's ancient greatness, but a few museums help keep culture alive.
