Chersonisos is renowned for its beaches as well as night life. However, there is much more to be seen in this historical and beautiful city. The village of Old Chersonisos was built due to the fear of pirates, and near there, Piskopiano and Koutouloufari overlook the busy resort of Limin Chersonisos.

Places to visit while in Chersonisos include the Lychnostatis, an open air folklore museum, which allows a glimpse of the Cretan folk heritage and AquaWorld Aquarium with samples of the local sea life.
